Overview

RenewAhead ("we", "the app") is a document expiration tracker that helps you stay on top of renewals. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Data stored locally on your device

• Document information: Document type, name, expiry date, issue date, document number, notes, and lead time preferences. This data is stored in a local database on your device. Only metadata like document names and expiry dates is synced to the cloud for backup and restore.
• Document photos: If you photograph a document, the image is stored locally on your device and is never uploaded.
• Sensitive fields: Document numbers and photos are encrypted on your device and never sent to any server.
• App settings: Your preferences for notifications, country, and other app settings.
• Biometric data: If you enable biometric lock, authentication is handled entirely by your device's OS. We never access, store, or transmit biometric data.

Data collected when you sign in

An account is required to use RenewAhead. When you sign in with Apple, Google, or email, we collect:

• Email address and display name — used to identify your account.
• Authentication tokens — managed by Firebase Authentication (Google LLC).

Data synced to the cloud

When you sign in, minimal document metadata (document type, name, expiry date, lead time) is synced to Firebase for backup, restore, and email reminders. No document numbers or photos are included. If you enable email reminders, this metadata is also used to generate reminder emails.

How We Use Your Data

• To track your document expiry dates and send you local notifications.
• To send email reminders about upcoming expirations (only if you enable this feature).
• To display ads via Google AdMob.

Advertising

RenewAhead displays banner ads powered by Google AdMob. Before showing personalized ads, the app asks for your permission via the App Tracking Transparency prompt on iOS. If you decline, only non-personalized ads are shown. AdMob may collect device identifiers for ad delivery.

Third-Party Services

• Firebase (Google LLC): Authentication and email reminder delivery. Firebase Privacy Policy.
• Google AdMob: Displays banner ads. May collect device identifiers for ad delivery. Google Privacy Policy.
• Apple/Google Sign-In: If you sign in via Apple or Google, their respective privacy policies apply.

Data Retention

• Local data: Remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
• Account data: Retained while your account exists. You can delete your account and all associated data from Settings.

Your Rights

• You can delete any document from the app at any time.
• You can delete your account and all associated data from Settings > Delete Account.
• You can opt out of personalized ads via iOS Settings > Privacy > Tracking.
• You can contact us to request data deletion.

Children's Privacy

RenewAhead is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
